Have you wondered why anything that taste great is usually unhealthy? Chocolates, pastries, fast food, fried items, ice creams…

Conversely, anything that is really healthy tastes… you know how.

So we tend to heave a large sigh and accept these as facts of life. And resolve to maintain a “healthy compromise”. Alas, what tends to grow is not health but the compromises.

The good news is that, at 5x Foods, we have made a serious dent in the compromise. As our own family, relatives and friends attest, we have indeed managed to take taste much farther into the realm of health than we ourselves suspected.

Of course, this did not happen overnight. A decade ago, in 2010, we got introduced to a teacher of Nature Cure. We learned the fundamentals of health and how to maintain it with only nature’s laws and gifts. Over the years, it blossomed into a community called aKarma.life where we experiment with all aspects of living a dharmic and sustainable life.

5x Foods was born out of the need to make health tasty and taste healthy. As with any endeavour, our quest is a combination of science and art.

The Science of Healthy Taste depends on our understanding of the five elements of nature: Aakasha, Vayu, Agni, Aapa and Prithvi (Space, Air, Fire, Water and Earth).

The Art of Tasty Health depends on cultivating the five virtues of aesthetics: Satya, Samarasa, Vinaya, Virya and Karuna (Truth, Harmony, Humility, Courage and Compassion).

So, these five elements and five virtues are the ingredients that help us make a decent effort in solving the equation, Health + Taste = Bliss.
